Patient Criteria
Collatamp G is a clinically proven anti-infective surgical implant that delivers a high dose of concentration-dependent gentamicin directly to the site of infection risk, providing effective and efficient antibiotic coverage only where needed, when needed.
The collagen substrate possesses exceptional haemostatic properties. Collatamp G is fully resorbable, and does not require a subsequent surgery for removal.
For high-risk surgical cases, Collatamp G is intended to be used as an adjunct to proper administration of systemic antibiotic prophylaxis and the "Safer Healthcare Now" surgical site infection bundle.
Consider adjunctive use of Collatamp G for:
Patients:
- Diabetes
- Obesity (BMI >30)
- Elderly or very young
- ASA score 2-4
- Alcohol/tobacco use
- Steroid therapy
- Immunocompromised
- Existing local infection
Procedures:
- Dirty/contaminated surgery
- Surgery of long duration
- High NNIS score
- Where SSI would be catastrophic
